KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — The Kernersville Police Department is searching for a suspect who covered his face with a black bandana and wore a paper bag over his right hand in two armed robberies Thursday night.

Police on Wednesday released video of one of the robberies. Police are asking the public to pay particular attention to the voice of the robber in the video.

At about 9:07 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the Quality Mart at 1580 Hwy. 66 on a reported armed robbery. Upon arrival, the clerk told police a man wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses, khaki pants and dark shoes entered the store. He then put a paper bag over his right hand and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Several hours later, the Kangaroo Express at 2010 West Mountain St. was also robbed at gunpoint. Once officers arrived, the clerk said a man wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses, khaki pants and dark shoes also entered their store. He had a paper bag over his right hand and demanded money before he fled.
