YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A South Carolina man was arrested Monday after a teenage girl from Kansas called authorities and said she had been kidnapped, WBTV reported.

David Calvert Wilhelm, 59, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Authorities said additional charges are possible.

A 16-year-old girl called police from Wilheilm’s home and said she had been kidnapped and had locked herself in a bedroom.

Deputies who arrived on scene saw the girl standing in the window. Wilhelm answered and said only he and his wife were in the house and when he tried to walk away, he was detained. Authorities said the girl was a runaway from Kansas.

No additional information has been released.
