HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point woman is charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of her grandmother.

Charianna Laquay Butler, 20, of Allred Place, is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injuries. She is accused of stabbing her 53-year-old grandmother seven times, said Capt. Tim Ellenberger.

Butler lives with her grandmother, according to police. The woman was stabbed at their home on Allred Place about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The women argued before the stabbing about where Butler was going, Ellenberger said.
