3 students, 2 adults injured in Winston-Salem school bus crash

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Two adults and three students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck.

Eleven high school students were on a bus to Wake Forest University for vocational training when the wreck occurred.

The crash was reported at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Shorefair Drive and West 30th St.

Initial reports shows the truck driver ran a red light, according to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools spokeswoman Alexandria Hoskins.

The wreck involved Winston-Salem Forsyth County School Bus #65 and a GMC pickup truck driven by an 83-year-old man. There is no word on any charges.
