Suspicious package outside Guilford County parole office leads to street closure

Update: The package was found to be safe.


GREENSBORO, N.C. — Part of Edgeworth Street in Greensboro is closed after a suspicious package was found Thursday morning.

Northbound Edgeworth Street is closed from West Friendly Avenue to Bellemeade Street after the package was found at Guilford County Probation and Parole office at 232 N. Edgeworth St. at 10:41 a.m.

A brown package was found on top of a mailbox outside the building, police said.

The Greensboro Police Department’s hazardous devices team is responding to assess the package.
