DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. -- Michigan police are investigating a quadruple homicide involving a man who allegedly killed two of his kids, two of his stepchildren and shot their biological mother, injuring her.
The incident occurred at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday morning when the man called the police and confessed to the murders, according to WXYZ. When officers arrived, he was waiting on the porch and taken into custody.
At the scene, police found the bodies of a 4 and 6-year-old dead in their bed, and two teenagers, aged 17 and 19-year-old, inside the home. Police say the man suffocated the young children with car exhaust fumes.
The mother was shot and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police say the suspect is the stepfather of the young children and father of the teenagers. Officers say the quadruple homicide started as a domestic situation.
