Winston-Salem cab driver Tased, hit on head with brass knuckles during robbery

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating after a cab driver claims he was Tased and hit on the head with brass knuckles during a robbery Monday night.

At about 11:26 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at 2364 Breck Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered that Brannon Easton, a driver for Willard Cab Company, was approached by a suspect who got into his vehicle and initiated a conversation. Several minutes later, two more suspects surrounded the cab and one used a Taser while the other hit him on the head with brass knuckles.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from his pockets and fled the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
