Man injured after being struck by car in Graham

GRAHAM, N.C. — A Graham man is recovering after he was struck by a vehicle Monday night.

At about 8:53 p.m., police responded to 229 South Melville Street in reference to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Chaseton Antonio Bailey on the front porch.

The vehicle was traveling south on Melville Street when Bailey entered the roadway and was struck by the right passenger portion of the car, sending him onto the hood. The driver fled the scene.

Bailey was taken to Duke University Medical Center and has since been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
