RALEIGH, N.C. — An Asheboro couple are the latest lottery players to beat the odds of 1 in 913,129 to win a $200,000 prize in the Sept. 17 Powerball drawing.

Jerry Lambert and his partner Aaron Britt claimed their prize Tuesday at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh, according to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery.

They bought the $3 Power Play ticket at the Ready Mart on Fayetteville Street in Asheboro.

The numbers matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000. The prize tripled when the 4X multiplier was drawn for Power Play tickets.

After required state and federal tax withholdings, they each received $69,256.
