GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are searching for two people accused of physically assaulting and deliberately striking an officer with their vehicle Monday, according to a news release from the Greensboro Police Department.

Chalon Marshawn Little, 36, and Pamela Nicole Stamper, 31, are wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer, hit and run and other charges related to theft.

The incident happened at 1:55 p.m. when an officer responded to a report of a shoplifting from the Target at 1628 Highlands Blvd.

As the officer attempted to arrest Little, he became combative and assaulted the officer, the release said. While the two were struggling, Stamper allegedly placed the vehicle she was driving in reverse and hit the officer.

The officer sustained minor injuries.

Little and Stamper have no permanent address and are known to frequent area motels, police said. They were seen operating a sage green Chevrolet Malibu with North Carolina registration CMA-4514. The license plate does not belong to that vehicle, police said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Little or Stamper is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.
