ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — An 11th-grade McMichael High School varsity football player was killed in a crash Friday night.

School officials confirmed that Celine-Ali Thomas Alamiri, 16, was killed in the vicinity of N.C. 68 and Lauren Road, which is in the northern area of Stokesdale in Rockingham County.

Authorities said at least one other car was involved in the collision, and at least one other person was taken to the hospital.

A school official told FOX8, “At this time, all we know is that he was involved in a head-on collision around midnight on Highway 68 and there were no passengers in his car. The school has reached out and been in contact with his family.  Rockingham County Schools will provide additional psychologists and counselors on campus Monday morning and we will have crisis supports available as long as they need them. Please keep the Alamiri and McMichael High families in your thoughts.”
