WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man killed in a Friday night shooting in Winston-Salem has been identified.

At 7:53 p.m., officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of North Graham Avenue on a reported shooting.

Upon their arrival, officers located 25-year-old Karodd Revon Nash seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had come to a stop at the intersection of East Ninth Street and North Graham Avenue.

Nash appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased shortly after officers arrived.

The evidence gathered at the scene indicated that as the vehicle being driven by Nash traveled west on East Ninth Street onto Graham Avenue, at least one weapon was discharged into the vehicle from a short distance away.

A man was seen fleeing the area on foot and a rifle was recovered along the path reportedly taken by this suspect.  The suspect was described as wearing black shorts and a red T-shirt.

The investigation is in the very early stages and authorities ask that anyone with information contact the Winston-Salem Police Department at (336) 773-7700 or CrimeStoppers at (336) 727-2800.

A next of kin for Nash has been notified of his death.
