McLeansville woman dies from injuries in Burlington crash

BURLINGTON, N.C. – A McLeansville woman died from injuries sustained in a crash Saturday night in Burlington, according to police.

Jannette Dumas, 78, died shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, according to the Burlington Police Department.

The wreck involved two vehicles and was reported at about 9:18 p.m. at South Church Street and University Drive.

Dumas was one of three passengers in one of the vehicles, which was driven by a 93-year-old Whitsett man. Police have not released details about the cause of the crash.

Another passenger in the same vehicle, Betty Holt, 87, of McLeansville, remains in critical condition. Each person in both vehicles was taken to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
