2 toddlers shot at South Carolina apartment complex

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. – Two toddlers have been shot and injured at an apartment complex in South Carolina, according to WIS.

The shooting was reported at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Meredith Square Townhome apartments in Richland County, according to authorities.

The victims are sisters and are younger than 5 years old. One is in serious condition and is undergoing surgery and the other has non-life-threatening injuries, according to Richland County Sgt. Brittany Scott.

The father was also injured in the hand. The mother was home at the time, but was not injured.

Deputies have not released any information about how the shooting happened. The investigation is ongoing.
