BURLINGTON, N.C. -- A Burlington police officer was taken to the hospital after a wreck on Thursday evening.
The accident happened at about 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of South Mebane Street and East Summit Avenue, according to Sgt. Drew Gerringer with Burlington police.
Gerringer said a Burlington patrol car and a sedan collided at the intersection.
The officer operating the patrol car was taken to the hospital but Gerringer said it was mostly as a precaution. The officer sustained minor to no injuries.
The driver of the sedan was not injured.
It is unclear at this time who was at fault in the wreck or if weather played a factor but Gerringer said the roads were slick from rain.
No names have been released.
