SECAUCUS, N.J. -- A New Jersey Transit police officer is being called a hero for saving a man from being run over by a train.
New Jersey Transit officials released video Monday of the incident in Secaucus on Friday.
They say the man was lying on the tracks just as a train was approaching the terminal.
Officer Victor Ortiz tried to pull the man from the tracks, but he resisted.
Ortiz eventually managed to get the man off the tracks just two seconds before the train would have hit him.
New Jersey Transit says the officer put his own life on the line to save the man.
