After breakfast with his son, an Ohio man found a note on his car that said 'We need more black dads like you.'

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — An Ohio father received quite the surprise when he found a note stuck to his windshield after breakfast with his son.

It partially read: “We need more black dads like you.”

WOIO reports the note, which also contained money to pay for their breakfast, was given to Kevon Smith from an older couple at the restaurant who admired how well he treated his son.

“Today your meal is on my wife and me. Enjoy that baby boy as long as God intends,” the note continued. “Keep doing what you’re doing. The Masons.”

Smith said the strangers’ generosity was appreciated and that making time for his son is important to him.

“There’s a lot of guys I know that aren’t taking care of their kids,” Smith said, according to WOIO. “To show that not all of us are out here being gang bangers, some of us are out here being fathers.”
