1 injured in Burlington shooting; 2 homes shot into

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Burlington Police Department responded to two incidents at the 700 block of Lakeside Avenue Sunday night.

Police responded to a shooting call at about 10:38 p.m. and upon arrival, officers located one 19-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The teenager was transported to Moses Cone Hospital and is in stable condition. A second person was located with the shooting victim but they were not injured.

In addition, police discovered two houses had been hit by bullets during the shooting. One of the residences was occupied by a 44-year-old female and the second by a 63-year-old female, and a minor.

Officers do not believe the residences were intended targets and none of the people were injured.
