CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, Arkansas – A police officer is hurt and a suspect in jail after the officer's patrol car crashed and flipped, sending the suspect flying out the back window.

The suspect, 19-year-old Logan Younger, managed to partially escape from his handcuffs and kick the police car door ahead before the crash.

After flying out of the back window of the overturned patrol car, younger fled the scene but was caught a short time later.

The officer had to be cut out of the car, and was flown to the hospital.

"I didn't know really what was going on,” said witness Collin Cooper. “I mean they just kept pouring cop cars and there were like three ambulances here. I wasn't sure until like I saw them bring the guy back."

No word on the severity of the officer's injuries, but he was conscious and talking to medical staff.

The suspect was treated at a hospital and sent to jail. No word on what caused the crash.
