‘Blue latex glove gang’ busted after string of pharmacy robberies in NC, Va.

Four men have been charged in connection to a series of armed robberies at pharmacies in Virginia and North Carolina. A surveillance photo shows the men robbing a store.

RICHMOND, Va. — Four men have been charged in connection to a series of armed robberies at pharmacies in Virginia and North Carolina, according to WTKR.

In Virginia, the men hit at least three stores. Two Hampton 7-Elevens were robbed in October 2015.

The 7-Eleven on 11500 Jefferson Boulevard in Newport News was robbed on April 5, 2016 at 8:40 p.m. The Mega Mart in the 3800 block of Kecoughtan Road was robbed 10 days later on April 15.

On seven occasions, masked and armed subjects entered 24-hour pharmacies in Virginia, and North Carolina, according to law enforcement. The armed suspects were black men in dark clothing, who usually wore blue latex type gloves.

The suspects acquired money during the robberies, sometimes stole cellphones, and in a North Carolina. robbery, the suspects demanded Vicodin and Percocet.

Similarities were found in the surveillance footage of the Richmond and North Carolina robberies.

Blue latex gloves were recovered in the parking lot after a May 12 robbery in Richmond and put into evidence for processing. DNA was taken from a phone touched during a robbery.

On May 16, police conducted a traffic stop on an orange Plymouth Neon in Durham, North Carolina.

They observed a handgun and blue latex gloves and recovered a Walgreen’s bag full of money.

Four individuals have been identified.

Armand Devon Mullen has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence.

Tyquan Demario Maccutcheon has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence.

Dallas Cogdell III has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence.

Dikembwe Akil Jones has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence.

The men will appear in federal court in Richmond, on Wednesday.
