LOCKHART, Texas – A hot air balloon carrying at least 16 people caught fire and crashed in Texas on Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said investigators are still trying to determine the number of victims and their identities.

The crash was reported shortly after 7:40 a.m. when the hot air balloon crashed into a pasture near Lockhart, Texas, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not said what caused the incident.
