2 NC care providers charged with attempted murder, child abuse

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two North Carolina caretakers are facing charges after they allegedly tried to kill a 15-year-old girl.

37-year-old Nicosia O’Neal and 42-year-old Shatuana Nicole McGee are facing charges of child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury and felony attempted murder, WNCN reports.

The victim, who was the under temporary care the duo, is now suffering from fluid in her lungs, bruises to her lower back, her left forearm, the right side of her face, both breasts, massive blood loss, internal bleeding and a rib fracture.

The assault occurred between April 13 and June 10, reports say.

They’re both in jail and under a $1.5 million secured bond.
