CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas police are investigating the deaths of two beach campers who were killed by their own car, KRISTV reports.

A 21-year-old was reportedly driving along the beach when his Chevy Silverado ran into a parked car, pushing it on top of the two campers’ tent. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

“The car that got spun around was parked, it was the couples that was killed in the accident,” said Corpus Christi Police Department Lt. Timothy Frazier. “It was their car that got hit and spun around and ran them over.”

The investigation is ongoing.
