Crash involving state trooper reported in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Troopers are on the scene of a crash involving a highway patrol vehicle in Davidson County.

Around 5:30 Wednesday morning, highway patrol responded to a wreck involving two vehicles: a trooper car and a Toyota Rav4.

It happened on U.S. 52 near mile marker 96.

Sgt. Harper with Highway Patrol says the cause is under investigation.

Both drivers complained of pain but were not sent to the hospital.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with costs estimated at about $25,000 between the two.
