WIMBERLEY, Texas — One day after five police officers were shot and killed in a tragedy that shook the whole world, children in Texas started lemonade stands to support police officers and their families.

7-year-old Chloe Diaz offered help by providing free lemonade and hugs to first responders on Friday, KVUE reports.

“They save our country so that’s why I did that,” she said.

Diaz normally raises the money to support Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors but wanted to help first responders after the shooting.
