Near drowning reported at Lake Brandt; other boaters get man to shore

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Emergency crews responded to a near drowning at Lake Brandt on Monday afternoon, according to Susan Danielsen with Greensboro police.

The incident was reported at 1:01 p.m.

Guilford County EMS responded to the scene.

The person who called 911 said a man fell out of a row boat. Other boaters retrieved him from the water and got him to the main pier.

Witnesses said the man was having trouble breathing when he was brought ashore, but after being given some oxygen by EMS appeared to be OK.

The man has not been identified.
