Reidsville officials search for bank robber

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — The Reidsville Police Department is searching for a man that robbed Carter Bank and Trust at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to Lt. Shannon Coates of the Reidsville police, the armed robber presented a handgun as he entered the bank, but there are no injuries. He fled on foot from the rear of the bank and headed north toward the cemetery off of Barnes Street.

Reidsville police stopped a vehicle and detained a couple occupants on Scales Street for questioning, but it’s not known if they are connected.

The investigation is ongoing.
