Police investigating shooting in Guilford County

JULIAN, N.C. — Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at 2880 Mt. Hope Church Road in Julian Tuesday morning.

At about 5:20 a.m., deputies received a 9-1-1 call from the residence reporting a larceny of medication in progress with shots fired.

Upon arrival, it was reported that the resident caught his friend who was spending the night attempting to steal prescription medication. At some point during this encounter, the resident shot his friend in the foot.

The shooting victim has been treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed and names will not be released as the investigation is still ongoing.
