CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Power failures caused quite the ruckus at Carowinds amusement park Thursday night,  WBTV reports.

Carowinds officials said the power outage caused partial power outages in the park and several rides were stopped and safely evacuated.

Reports said that riders were stuck on the Windseeker and Intimidator.

Park officials said 17 people were on the Windseeker at the time of the outage.

Carowinds said they are lowering the Windseeker to the ground and safely evacuating riders.

A park-goer said the power issue caused other rides to get stuck as well.

Medic said they are on the scene, but no patients have required treatments.

Carowinds said in a statement, “As always, the safety of our guests and associates is our highest priority.”
