Woman killed after falling from 3-wheeler in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a woman’s death after they said she fell from the back of a 3-wheeler on a busy Charlotte highway overnight, WSOC reports.
According to officials, a 3-wheeler Can-Am and a motorcycle were speeding next to each other around 2:30 a.m. in the outbound lanes of Independence Boulevard near when the woman passenger fell off the Can-Am.
She was wearing a helmet but it fell off on impact. Her name has not been released.
Police say they are investigating the possibility that the two vehicles were racing.
The man who was driving was taken to the hospital but he is expected to make a recovery.
The incident was captured by Department of Transportation cameras and officers were reviewing the footage.
