CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — New information was released Wednesday in a 16-year-old case from Cleveland County, WSOC reported.

Asha Degree was 9 years old when she walked away from her family’s home in Fallston.

The FBI is now searching for a car that she may have gotten into. It’s a new lead that comes after the FBI, the State Bureau of Investigation and Cleveland County investigators launched an effort to reexamine the case and re-interview witnesses.

The new team has met every week since the 15th anniversary of her disappearance last year.
