Search continues for sex offender accused of abducting missing girl in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Police in Burlington are looking for a missing 16-year-old girl and a man accused of abducting her.

Burlington police obtained a felony warrant for abduction of children on William Geoffrey Thacker in connection to the disappearance of Krystian Ryleigh Stuart.

Stuart is described as a 16-year-old girl, about 5’2” and weighing around 160 pounds.

She has black hair and blue eyes and was last seen in the parking lot of the Dollar General at 600 Rauhut St. in Burlington.

Thacker is described as a 27-year-old man standing 6’1” and weighing 215 pounds. He is a registered sex offender.

Burlington police said they are concerned for the safety of Stuart.

Thacker and Stuart were last seen in a white 1999 GMC Sierra truck with a North Carolina license of PCC-3269, according to police.

Police are actively searching. They are working with the teenager's family and contacting those who know the teenager and suspect.

A relative of Thacker's contacted FOX8 to say there is more to this story than what police are releasing.
