2-year-old girl struck by vehicle in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A 2-year-old girl chased a ball into the street and was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Belmont Drive and East Fairfield Road, according to High Point Police Watch Command.

The incident was reported at 7:47 p.m. on Friday, Watch Command said.

The child suffered multiple injuries that police believe are not life-threatening. The girl is being treated at the High Point Regional emergency room.

The accident is still under investigation, but police don’t expect to charge anyone. The driver stopped at the scene of the accident.

The identity of the girl has not been released.
