1 killed, 1 injured in head-on crash in High Point
HIGH POINT, N.C. — One person is in the hospital with serious injuries and another was killed in a High Point crash Wednesday.
Ebony James, 28, of High Point, died from the injuries she sustained in the crash.
Officers with the High Point Police Department were called to the intersection of South Elm Street and Vail Avenue at 6:11 p.m.
According to a release, a preliminary investigation shows that James, who was driving a Nissan Altima, was traveling west on Vail Avenue when she turned right onto South Elm Street and traveled left of center.
Police say she ran head-on into a Honda Accord traveling south.
Both drivers were seriously injured and were taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment. There is no word on the condition of the other driver.
High Point police said neither driver had any passengers.
Authorities say no charges are expected.
