Randolph County Sheriff’s Office employee shot at his home

TRINITY, N.C. – A Randolph County Sheriff’s Office employee was shot in his own home.

Deputies say Tyler Cook is in the hospital recovering after being shot in the abdomen at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Trinity.

He’s expected to be okay and the sheriff’s office is still investigating what led up to the shooting. Authorities have not said who pulled the trigger.
