Multiple agencies search for escaped prisoner near Forsyth Medical Center

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Corrections and law enforcement officers are looking for an inmate who escaped from the emergency room at Forsyth Medical Center Sunday morning.

William Bailey, 31, escaped just before 7 a.m. when he and a correctional officer were on their way back to Forsyth Correctional, according to authorities.

Bailey, from Forsyth County, was serving about a three year sentence for several counts of possession with intent to sell a controlled substance.

Authorities said that Bailey was scheduled for release in May 2017.
