Police searching for 2 suspects in burglary, assault in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police in Burlington are searching for two suspects in a burglary and assault that sent a man to the hospital Friday morning.

Officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to Alamance Regional Medical Center at 2:30 a.m. in reference to a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim told police he was at his home on Sellars Mill Road when two men wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts kicked in the back door.

He then confronted the burglars and that’s when one of the suspects shot him in the abdomen and left thigh.

The victim was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Authorities say the suspects were last seen fleeing the home on foot.
