Police investigating homicide in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A 25-year-old was killed in a shooting in Winston-Salem Saturday morning, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Officers responded to 3000 Apollo Drive at approximately 12:44 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found Jeremy Asiaih Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Johnson was taken to Baptist Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Detectives with the criminal investigations division are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation and have not released any suspect information.

This is the fifth homicide in Winston-Salem this year.
