Hancock Fabrics going out of business, closing stores in the Triad

BALDWYN, Miss. — Hancock Fabrics is going out of business and closing all of its stores, according to the company’s website.

The business has various locations across the Tar Heel state including two stores in Winston-Salem and one each in Greensboro and Asheboro.

The Baldwyn, Mississippi-based specialty retailer of crafts and fabrics and will close its remaining 185 stores nationwide, according to the Associated Press.

Hancock filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. It also filed for bankruptcy in 2007.

The company is offering 20 to 50 percent off all merchandise in store and online as part of a “going out of business” sale. All sales are final.

The Associated Press reported that the store closings will “begin soon,” but did not give exact dates.
