GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police in Greensboro are looking for a man accused of stealing a woman’s bookbag and pushing her into a creek.

Greensboro police responded to Willow Road at Alamance Church Road in reference an assault at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

The victim told police she was walking earlier at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Preddy Boulevard when it happened.

The suspect allegedly approached the victim, took her bookbag and then pushed her off a bridge and into a creek.

Emergency responders took the victim to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, according to police.

Police have not released any information about a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
