Davidson County inmate accused of throwing feces at detention officer

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Davidson County inmate is facing new charges after deputies say he threw what appeared to be feces at one of the detention officers.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened Wednesday as officers were conducting rounds in the detention center.

Inmate Zachery Lane Beck is accused of throwing feces at the officer and then refusing to cooperate when other officers arrived to defuse the situation.

Two of the officers said Beck spit on them before he was detained.

Beck was charged with three counts of malicious conduct by a prisoner. He received a $250,000 bond.
