YADKINVILLE, N.C. — Three teens were arrested Sunday morning in connection with a fire at an abandoned building in Yadkinville.

The Yadkinville Fire Department and two other fire stations were called to an abandoned Wilco convenience store late Saturday night.

Firefighters battled the blaze but were unable to save the structure because it was engulfed in flames before they arrived on the scene.

An off-duty police officer who responded to the scene witnessed three suspicious teens leaving the area and called for on-duty officers to investigate.

As a result of the investigation, Yadkinville Police arrested 19-year-old Travis Scott Casstevens of Yadkinville, 19-year-old Dustin Steele Freeman of Yadkinville and 17-year-old James Chadwick Westmoreland of Jonesville.

All three teens were charged with felony breaking and entering and burning an unoccupied building. They were placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
