NC gang member accused of pulling woman out of car by her hair
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A known North Carolina gang member was arrested after police say he pulled a woman out of her car and drove away in it.
Officers with the Lincolnton County Police Department were called to Cobb street to investigate a robbery, according to WBTV.
Upon arrival, the victim told officers that a man, later identified as Johnny Wray Izard, Jr., pulled her hair, physically removing her from the vehicle. He then reportedly drove off in the victim’s vehicle.
Police found Izard and the vehicle shortly after the carjacking, but he was able to escape. Officers tracked Izard down and arrested him the following day.
Izard was charged with common law robbery and assault on a female. He is being held in the Lincoln County jail under a $5,000 bond.
Lincoln County officials say he has other assault charges pending as well.
