2 accused of trying to bury body face charges in Albemarle
ALBEMARLE, N.C. — The pair caught trying to bury a body in Alexander County last week has been charged with first-degree murder in Albemarle, according to WNCN.
Deputies caught Tony Hearne and Linsey Lentz trying to bury a body in the woods near an abandoned home.
Albemarle police told WSOC that evidence they obtained led investigators to believe that Hearne’s uncle, Roberta Hearne Jr., was killed in Albemarle and taken to Alexander County to be buried.
Hearne and Lentz were previously charged with first-degree murder and failure to report a death in Alexander County.
Both were moved from the Alexander County Jail to Stanly County Jail on Tuesday. Neither were granted bail.
