BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington Police have released the name of the father who was struck by a vehicle while pushing his daughter in a stroller Wednesday night.

At 7:51 p.m., Burlington police, firefighters and Alamance County EMS responded to the intersection of South Graham-Hopedale Road and North Church Street.

Christopher Oakley, 27, who was pushing his 2-year-old daughter in a stroller, was struck while crossing the intersection. The driver who hit them had a green light and didn’t see the pedestrians, according to a release.

Oakley and his daughter were initially taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center but were re-routed to Moses Cone Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

The driver of the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu who hit the father and daughter is not facing charges.

The driver stayed at the scene and Sgt. Drew Gerringer with Burlington police said alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident.
