4 charged in Yadkin County home invasion, burglary

YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office have arrested four people in connection with a home invasion and burglary in Hamptonville.

John Isaac Johnson, 19, of Jonesville; Kenneth Wayne Kelly, Jr., 19, of Boonville; Bilahl Hassan Moss, 18, of Jonesville; and Dustin Anthony Sparks, 20, of Jonesville, were each charged in connection with a burglary that happened on Feb. 21 around 12:30 a.m. on Statesville Road.

The first deputies on the scene spotted a pick-up truck attempting to flee the area and were able to catch up to it.

After an investigation, the occupants of the vehicle were charged.

Their charges are as follows:

  • Johnson was charged with aiding and abetting first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.
  • Kelly was charged with first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy.
  • Moss was charged with charged with aiding and abetting first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.
  • Sparks was charged with charged with aiding and abetting first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony possession of a controlled substance within a detention center.

All the suspects received a secured bond of $100,000 and have a first court appearance scheduled in Yadkin County District Court on Feb. 24
