Damien Scott Boyd (Fayetteville Police Department)

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department has obtained warrants charging Damien Scott Boyd with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Hanee Heron Byrd, a wheelchair-bound man whose body was found dumped near a bus stop.

Police with the homicide unit said Thursday night that the results of the autopsy completed on Byrd showed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

Boyd, 23, an acquaintance of Byrd’s, is not in custody. He may still be driving a black, 2012 Ford Focus, bearing North Carolina license plate BLR-2895.
