GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Greensboro last week, and no one called 911 to report the gunfire.

The victim’s body — later identified by police as Timothy Eugene Phifer Jr. — was discovered by a man coming home from work, according to a 911 call.

Phifer, 24, of Greensboro, was found shot once in the parking lot of the Colony Square Apartments on Feb. 5, police said.

According to the four-minute 911 call, the male caller arrives home to the apartment complex to discover Phifer’s body.
