DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Three teens were ejected from a vehicle and injured in a wreck in Davidson County on Tuesday night.

According to Highway Patrol Trooper Nathan Varney, the accident was reported at 10:18 p.m. at the intersection of Calvin Sowers Road and Calvin Sowers Lane.

The driver, an 18-year-old male, overcorrected as he was coming around a curve too fast, Varney said. The tires deflated and the SUV he was driving flipped.

The driver sustained critical injuries. There are no charges against him but that could change, Varney said.

None of the people in SUV were wearing seatbelts, Varney said.

The two passengers, a 16-year-old male and 16-year-old female, have each been charged with not wearing a seatbelt.

The 16-year-old male sustained minor injuries and the 16-year-old female sustained serious injuries.

No names have been released.
