Man accused of stabbing brother multiple times in back in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested in Alamance County Thursday after deputies said he stabbed his brother in the back.

Steven Caudle was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded 3826 Timber Ridge Lake Road in Liberty around 10 p.m. Thursday in reference to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that Steven Caudle had stabbed his brother, Timothy Caudle, in back several times with a utility knife.

By the time authorities arrived Steven Caudle had fled the scene but was later found in the area of Coble Mill Road and Highway 49 South.

Timothy Caudle was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center by ambulance and later transported to Baptist Hospital by air. Doctors told authorities he is alert and none of the wounds appear to be life-threatening.

Steven Caudle was placed in the detention center under a $50,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5.
